Our commitment

Roots Pediatric Dentistry is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to people with disabilities, including families who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technologies. We believe every family deserves equal access to information about their child's dental care.

We work to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and California's Unruh Civil Rights Act. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we review the site regularly to find and fix issues.

Accessibility features on this site

  • Accessibility options panel. The round button in the lower-left corner of every page opens a panel where you can enlarge text, switch to high contrast, choose a readable font, highlight or underline links, increase text spacing, pause animations, and enlarge the cursor. Your settings are saved on your device.
  • Keyboard navigation. All menus, buttons, links, and dialogs can be operated with a keyboard. A “Skip to main content” link appears when you press Tab on any page, and a visible focus indicator shows where you are.
  • Screen reader support. Pages use semantic headings, landmarks, labeled controls, and descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
  • Reduced motion. We respect your operating system's “reduce motion” setting, and animations can also be paused from the accessibility panel.
  • Responsive design. Content reflows for mobile devices and when zoomed up to 200% without loss of information.
  • Color and contrast. Text and interactive elements are designed to meet WCAG contrast minimums, and color is never the only way information is conveyed.

Third-party content

Some features are provided by third parties, including our online appointment scheduling service, the live chat widget, and the embedded Google Map. While we choose vendors that support accessibility, we cannot fully control their content. If you have difficulty with any of these features, please call our office and we will gladly help you schedule or answer questions by phone.

Accommodations at our office

We are happy to provide reasonable accommodations for patients and families with disabilities, including children with special healthcare needs. Learn more about our special needs dentistry services, or call ahead so we can prepare for your visit.
